Benford who presides over a growing and diverse congregation of roughly three to five
hundred parishioners and potentially many more thousand by way of his television
broadcast, “Direction for Life,” said that he wished he had a closer connection
with a spiritual father, when initially founding Valley Harvest. “I did not know the
importance of a spiritual mentor. One of the most critical things in any business is a
mentor.” He said that now Dr. I.V. Hillard, is his “Spiritual Father.” He
also said that he greatly admires and studies the works of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. |
